Station Eleven 13-26
Part one:
In the kingdom of Al-Awasmi, people live in comfort and bliss. Everyone works and finds what meets their daily needs of food and drink. In this kingdom, society is productive and efficient. The schools are at the highest level, and the universities have a good international rating. The kingdom's basic budget is spent on education and municipalities for their care and cleaning the kingdom. The law here applies to everyone, including members of the ruling family. The king does not allow any transgression of the law and considers him the main sponsor of the stability of society. Al- Awasmian people believe that home ownership is a legitimate right for every citizen, and that people should not suffer to owns a house. The Kingdom depends on the profits of the companies owned by the Kingdom and the natural resources that the Kingdom abounds with. So, it is not very taxing to society, it is only 3% of your base salary. Therefore, most of the people here live happily and carry love towards each other. The Kingdom also contains the best hospitals in the world. Complete health care is provided to anyone in the community free of charge. You don't need any health insurance for that. This society is happy because the means of happiness are available to them in an integrated manner.
Part two:
He graduates from the theater school and marks time for a while, auditioning and working long hours as a waiter, then a job on Law & Order—is there an actor in New York who hasn’t worked on Law & Order?—that lands him an agent and turns into a recurring role on a different Law & Order, one of the spin-offs.(chapter 13)
This quote is so cool it reminded me of my friend his name is Alaa. He was studying in Art college, graduated from it, and worked on a series that is now showing on Netflix.
“I love it.” The revelation of privacy: she can walk down the street and absolutely no one knows who she is. (chapter 13)
This quote brought back some memories for me. The first day I came to the USA and walked the streets of my neighborhood, no one knew me. It was a strange feeling, because I am used to knowing all the people of my neighborhood.
I learned about Arthur's. He was from Delano Island and had mixed feelings about the place. Despite enrolling at the University of Toronto, he left to pursue an acting career. He made friends with Clark after meeting him. Miranda's age when she first met Arthur, who was around twenty eight. He phones Miranda at the age of twenty-four to schedule a dinner date when he is thirty-six.
Both timelines feature the comic books Station Eleven and Dear V. I believe Miranda views Station Eleven as her nirvana because it provides solace for her. I believe she intentionally made Dr. Eleven resemble Pablo in order to make Pablo a better boyfriend. These comics are one of the few books or forms of entertainment that Kirsten can appreciate. She treasures Dear V because her mother owned the book as well. So, it's clear that Arthur exists in both time periods.
In the narrative, Kirsten and August travel apart after the Symphony has been moving toward the Museum of Civilization together. They discover a skeleton with a bullet wound while Jackson, Viola, and Kirsten search a school for instruments. As they proceed, Dieter and Sayid vanish into thin air while they are keeping watch. Eventually, they gave up after searching for Sayid and Dieter. Sidney leaves right after that. The Symphony has left, Kirsten and August find out while searching for the ensemble. The reasons behind their departure were a mystery. In their search for the Museum of Civilization, Kirsten and August stumble into an abandoned home as they continue on their journey. Also discovered is a Finn, who is the father of identical twins. They learn that the prophet was left behind by Finn and the kids. In the unaltered home, they discover a boy and his parents dead in their beds, and Kirsten finds a new clothing to wear. While traveling, they become separated from the group and come upon bodies. It does not bode well for the upcoming chapters.
